Overview

The Traditional Architecture Gathering (TAG) is an annual cultural event that celebrates Saudi Arabia’s architectural heritage through exhibitions, live demonstrations, and curated dialogues. Set in the historic At-Turaif district - home to UNESCO World Heritage-listed mud-brick palaces - TAG reflects Diriyah’s commitment to preserving and reinterpreting traditional building techniques in contemporary contexts. YVT Consultancy was appointed to develop the event’s strategy, concept, and program structure, ensuring a balance between education, experience, and cultural preservation.

Outcome

The project resulted in a comprehensive strategy and brand identity that positioned TAG as a flagship cultural event under Diriyah Seasons. YVT Consultancy developed a three-year strategic plan, immersive content framework, and partnership model that united architects, designers, and the public under one platform. The Gathering introduced workshops, talks, and installations that redefined the role of earthen architecture in modern design discourse. The project laid the foundation for the evolution of TAG into the TYN Festival, establishing Diriyah as a global reference point for cultural innovation rooted in heritage.
